we want our students to read this summer so that the following school year will
be their best ever. We also want students to have a choice in what they read
and to share with their teachers and peers their reading experiences when they
return in the fall. What students choose to read is not as important as choosing
We want students to experience reading in all kinds of ways. Reading can take place on the Kindle, Nook or iPad. You might read the magazine that you’ve always wanted to read, or you may read a short story or a narrative poem. We want reading to be fun and informational!
Additionally, any student who participates in the Scholastic Summer Reading Program and/or in the Lexington County Public Library Summer Reading program Spark a Reaction will be entered in a drawing for a $25 iTunes gift card. For each level of the LCPL program completed (there are four), students will receive a ticket for entry in the drawing.
Also, don’t forget our own collection of eBooks that you can download to your Nook, Kindle or iPad. Click here to see the GMS Learning Commons’ eBook Collection.
